A measuring arm is a portable coordinate measuring machine with which the geometry of a component can be detected. Quality assurance, inspection, workpiece inspection on the machine, reverse engineering, virtual assembly or 3D modeling - the measuring arm supports all these applications. The mobility of the measuring system comes about through 6 axes, that can allow an endless rotation. At the end of the measuring arm a probe is located. To measure a point, the probe is simply positioned at the point to be measured. High-precision angle encoders make it possible to determine the current xyz position of the probe at any time.
